TRANSFORMATIONS

In this minimalist video, one can see my intention to capture three concepts:

  • the temporality of actions

  • driving change

  • the process of letting go

ONE minute video - EXPLOrATIONS

Since the first year is all about exploring and exercising my curiosity, I have decided to go three directions with the one minute video.
I wanted to explore a simple idea when I would figure as the protagonist, next, I decided to see how I can tackle creating a video using only a digital environment (through desktop recording), and finally, I composed a more of a classical movie to portray a certain mood.

About Consent

Being pressured into a consent when it comes to sex, commitment, relationships, etc. is a theme that I and a lot of my (mostly female) friends have been facing throughout the whole life. In order to illustrate how - under the pressure of manipulative words and actions of another person, one changes their mind from NO to YES. By the end, although NO becomes YES....the YES appears to be “ill” and twisted in comparison to how YES is supposed to look like.

The video is accompanied by the lyrics (to represent the manipulative voice) from the song “Don’t You Want Me” by The Human Language.

Those Within Us -

work in progress

As children, we are scared of the darkness. However, the darkness is mostly peaceful and does not intend to harm. It is our inner self who is responsible for visualizing demons or evil creaturs seemingly living in the dark. While the darkness proceeds with its own life, the human mind is responsible for creating and feeding or killing its own demons since they only exist within self. The realization of the former can lead to both relief and desperation. As background music, I chose the “Dazed and Confused” byLed Zeppelin since I have always been incredibly terrified yet fascinated by it. Both due to its mysterious history (as this song was inspired by occultism and a demonic “magician” Alister Crowley) and its disharmonic tones.
