Bleed to Heal

Bleed to Heal is a multimedia artwork that examines the interplay between pain, vulnerability, and healing. The work consists of two elements: large-scale paintings and a video installation documenting the performance that created them.
At its core, the project explores the human experience of emotional wounds—loss, heartbreak, and grief—and the body’s response to these universal moments. Whether losing a loved one or being abandoned by someone we love, the body feels these losses in similar ways. Through the act of "bleeding," both metaphorical and physical, the process of healing begins.
The paintings were created during a performance where the artist interacted directly with the canvas, guided by movement, sound, and a single, stark light source. This setting highlights the rawness of the process, emphasizing the intimacy and vulnerability of creation. The accompanying video installation captures the performance, offering a layered perspective on the act of creation and its emotional weight.
By merging painting and performance, Bleed to Heal invites viewers to reflect on their own experiences with pain and healing, and to confront the vulnerability that connects us all.
